Hi Traders,

I’m back from my time in the sun! Had a super time!!!

interesting day today – North Korea stirring things up by firing shots into their southern brothers! The markets reacted slightly during the Asian and European sessions – but somehow went ballistic during the US session! I’m thinking there’s a bit of over reaction there….

This is not the first time they have shot at the south (nor the last). The recovery in the US is starting to look more positive – my view is that the markets are going to rally again – there are other reasons I think so – but some more of this later.

For now, I’m seeing a bearish Gartley in the Gold chart.

I’ve been in a short on the EURGBP pair since last night – the reason why I tool this trade was because I saw a big gartley on the daily chart. I’m currently down 8 pips, but this is a swing trade.

There was weak CPI data in Australia today – and we’re saw the AUD give a lot of ground today on the back of the news.

On the technical side I am seeing a bearish butterfly in the pair – daily chart.

USDCHF breaking the channel

Hi Traders,

Today the USDCHF made an impressive bounce – showing signs of the beginning of a recovery up to parity – and maybe beyond.

What was key about today’s move was the push through the 0.9669 level – drawing a trendline from the June 7th high (1.1672) and Tuesday’s high (0.9756) – today the price pushed through this level of resistance.

Today’s recovery in USDCHF could see the start of the unwinding of the significant oversold condition in this pair.

EURGBP breaking out the bearish channel

Hi Traders,

EURGBP continues to push higher and is approaching the next major hurdle for the bulls at 0.8907 – this is where the broad bear channel drawn off the 0.9801 high of December 2008 currently intersects and I’m expecting price action to become volatile at this level.

If it breaks above this level then it would an important development for the bulls opening the way to 0.9150, with the possibility of going back up to 0.9411.

Inability to clear the 0.8907 would change the short-term outlook and allow for a correction.
